Membership Types

Short Line Railway Members

Short Line Railways are the core of our membership. We welcome short line railway members from across Western Canada.

Benefits of membership for short line railways include:

Attendance at the WCSLRA’s quarterly meetings and annual trade show


Access to up-to-to date industry information and networking opportunities


Legislative advocacy, both provincially and federally


Business development support


Assistance with regulatory issues


These members:
Have access to all activities of the WCSLRA, including closed door sessions at quarterly meetings


Have voting rights on all issues


Are able to chair and sit on committees


Associate Supplier Members

Short line and industrial railways depend on a network of rail suppliers to maintain safe infrastructure and to maximize growth opportunities.

Benefits of membership for suppliers include:

Attendance at the WCSLRA’s quarterly meetings


Presence at our annual trade show – booth and sponsorship opportunities


Access to a list of contacts at each railway who are directly involved with procurement


Display on our website – logo, company information, and equipment for sale


Representation via an elected delegate on committees


Associate INDUSTRIAL RAILWAYS

Industrial railways share many similarities with short lines, including an emphasis on safety and efficiency within smaller operations. We welcome our industrial colleagues as associate members.

Associate General Members

Associate General Members are members who are not a railway or rail supplier. These members are welcome to attend our meetings and be involved in the organization but do not have voting rights.
