WCSLRA Annual Golf Tournament & BBQ

Entry Fee

$800 per a team (Registration includes golf 18 holes, lunch and supper at casino). Etransfer to karenp@wcslra.com, credit or check accepted.

Location

Dakota Dunes Golf Links, an 18-hole golf course designed by Graham Cooke and Cooke-Carleton, opened on April 30, 2004, on the historic Whitecap Dakota First Nation lands along the South Saskatchewan River Valley Basin. The course features natural sand dune formations, indigenous prairie grasses, and varying tee deck yardages from 5100 to 7300 yards to accommodate all skill levels. In 2016, a new clubhouse was completed, featuring a restaurant, pro shop, and various guest facilities, complemented by stunning views of the golf course and river valley. Adjacent to Dakota Dunes Resort, the Dakota Dunes Casino provides a Vegas-style entertainment experience with table games, slot machines, and exemplary service.

Tournament is capped at 20 teams.

Colleagues or friends who would like to join for the day but not play golf are welcome to join us as a non-player and purchase a ticket for meals only. Anyone wishing to register as a non-player can register before June 1, 2026.

We will run an old fashion Calcutta the night before ( June 9 ) at the reception at Dakota Dunes.
Calcutta to start at 8pm. Each team will be auctioned off to a single owner.

First Team Auction will be a Wild Card team – Highest bidder selects any team. After that it will go in tee off time order.

Teams not sold will be the property of the Western Canada Short Line Association.

Payout will be as follows:

70% of total pool to the owner of the winning team
20% of total pool to the owner of the 2nd place team
10% of total pool to the owner of the 3rd place team

Hole 3 – 2nd shot closest to the pin
Hole 5 – 2nd shot closest to the pin
Hole 6 – Closest to the pin
Hole 11 – Closest to the pin
Hole 13 – 2nd shot closest to the pin
Hole 15 – Closest to the pin
Hole 17 – Closest to the pin
Hole 18 – Longest putt

We will again run the poker tournament. You will play opponents in a one hand head-to-head game.

Runner up 20% of the Pool

Visiting team states if they are in or out $5.00 to start. Home team then makes same decision.
If both teams are in then three cards are turned over.
Again visiting team states if they want to continue another $0.00. Home team then makes same decision.
If both teams are still in the turn card is turned over.
Again visiting team states if they want to continue another $5.00. Home team then makes same decision.
If both teams are still in the river card is turned over.
Again visiting team states if they want to continue another $5.00. Home team then makes same decision.
Hands are reviewed and the best hand proceeds to the next round.
